Summers in Medina County always equals the anticipated return of Art in the Park, the annual Fine Arts Show and Sale in Medina’s Historic Public Square. This special event is sponsored by the Medina County Art League, a volunteer based non-profit organization, dedicated in part to promoting interest and appreciation of the arts in our community. In addition, the show is a venue the Medina County Art League utilizes to provide scholarships to area high school seniors who are planning to continue studying art in college. The Medina County Art League feels that giving our young artists a jumpstart on their post-secondary education is very important, so it’s all worth the effort. The raffle ticket drawing during Art in the Park is their primary scholarship fund drive. Many of the professional artists who exhibit at the show donate a piece of their artwork to be raffled off. The League likes to encourage everyone to participate by purchasing raffle tickets to help support the local young budding artists.

Juried artisans from across the country exhibit their handcrafted items in a gallery of tents around the park’s gazebo, under a canopy of large shade trees. Visitors to the Art in the Park Show and Sale will have the opportunity to meet and talk with exhibiting artists, and enjoy live entertainment.

 

The Fine Art Show and Sale features more than 130 of the finest artists and craftsmen from across the United States. This distinctive show typically brings over 15,000 people to the Medina Square. It is a free event, open to the public.

The top quality exhibitors, culled from applications across the country, work with mediums such as watercolor, pottery, metal, clay, jewelry, wood and oil painting. Others include wearable art, blown glass, florals, baskets, photography, fiber, stained glass, printmaking, woodcarving, ceramics, acrylic/pastels, and many more. Art in the Park is truly the place to be to find that perfect piece of art for your home or office, whether it’s traditional or contemporary, or something in between … Unique, affordable pieces of jewelry, featuring handmade beads, pendants, beautiful stones and original designs, are brought in by several jewelry artists.
