Thank you everyone! Artists - Committee Members - Gallery Sitters!

We couldn’t do it without you! Even the snow didn’t keep us away!

We started last year with the planning of this year’s 6th Annual Aquarius Exhibition. No! – it doesn’t happen overnight. Once Sharon got the dates reserved, we started working on the publicity. Paula Banks took care of newspapers, magazines, websites, etc. and I, Deanna, got word out to the league members. Do you remember how I have reminded everyone at the meetings since September to get ready for February?

Ann Kellish scheduled all of the gallery sitters up to the end of our last general meeting. She managed to get all the spots filled up; THANK YOU everyone!

The day of check-in Ken Smith, Tom and Sharon Borror started out early in the morning moving everything needed to the library and set it all up. Meantime, Mary Sandmann and Darlene Young learned how to accept entries while Jean Scandlon and Karen Drake transported all the artwork to the third floor. During that time, Candy Bennington and Sharon Borror began to organize the artwork coming in into pleasing arrangements which was ongoing and changed constantly during the course of the day.

The next day, everything was hung with the additional help of Karen Drake and Ann Kellish. Kathy Fries organized all of the 3-D work into pleasing arrangements.

Then the day of the reception came and we were presented with home made cookies that Teenia Geig and Jean Scandlon had been baking for two weeks. Wasn’t that great! Greg Goldmeier was nice enough to supply us with some beautiful signs to put up in the library and businesses around town. Bill Beuther did a wonderful job photographing the events of the day.

The awards that were presented were very impressive and instilled a sense of hope to those who may need some inspiration for next year’s show.

There are many things Sharon and I did behind the scenes, too numerous to mention that took many hours to accomplish. But the end result is a wonderful show full of beautiful work done by many talented members of our group. It just gets better every year. I hope everyone, including family and friends, gets a chance to see the show.

Let me remind everyone that the last day of the show is Friday, February 26. Pick-up will be from noon to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 27th. Please come to the third floor with your packaging and a committee member will get your artwork for you. You will be asked to initial the check-in sheet upon leaving.

Again, thank you to everyone for all you have done.
