MCAL's General Meetings are held on the forth Monday of each Month from September through April and the third Monday in May, except for December. The meeting consist of a short business meeting followed with a program presented by a well known artist, sharing a wealth of knowledge on many media. We will update with the program presenters for the coming season as we schedule them.

Monthly General Meeting Dates 2010/2011 Season:

• September 27, 2010 - Joe Frohnapfel, Treecarver - Joe will bring some of his wood sculptures he carves from distressed trees and discuss how he and his chainsaw create some of the area finest Indian statues.
• October 25, 2010 - Bob Pozarski, Glass Artist - One of the area's finest glass artists will show us how he makes a vase. This will be offsite at his studio at the Peninsula Art Academy. His work will be displayed.
• November 22, 2010 - Connie Bloom, Art Quilts - Former writer for the Akron Beacon Journal, Connie has a love for sewing and will show us how she creates her unique Art Quilts using design and exploring color.
• December - No meeting, Happy Holiday's
• January 24, 2011 - Margot Eiseman, Silk Painter - Margot will bring samples of her beautiful hand painted silk scarves and show the process she goes through to create them. Don't be surprised if she lets us paint too.
• February 28, 2011 - Linda Hutchinson, Watercolors - Linda is a signature member of the Akron Society of Artists. She will do an inter-active session called "A Pear is a Pear is a Pear". Each participant should come pre-peared with: one pear, watercolors or colored drawing materials and 10-12 squares of 8x8 paper.
• March 28, 2011 - Becky Monegan, Hale Farm & Homestead Weaver - Becky will do a presentation about the spinning/weaving/natural dyes program representing mid 19th Century life in Cuyahoga Valley.
• April 25, 2011 - Christine Weigand, Hand Cut Paper Paintings - Christine will show us how she creates her beautiful paintings using hand cut paper.
• May 16 or 23, 2011 - Scholarship Awards Reception, Support our young up and coming Medina County artists. Meeting is at the Medina Hospital Medical Building Annes - ALL ARE INVITED.

Guests are always welcome! To participate in the Medina County Art League meetings and some of the events you must be a member of the art league. To join, simply download the application, fill it out and send it in along with your membership dues. After becoming a member you will recieve our MCAL Newsletter on a regular basis.
