2010 MCAL's Continuing Art Education Scholarship Awards

MCAL has an art raffle of donated paintings from participating artists in our annual Art in the Park event, held on the third Sunday each year in July.  For several years the league has added to the raffle earnings making the scholarship awards an outstanding amount of money for the students.  This year is no different.  MCAL has set aside $2500 to be distributed among the four winners.

Barbara Johns, MCAL’s Scholarship committee Chair, stated, “once again, the seniors have outdone themselves!  We had only 16 applications this year and one would think that would make the judge’s job easier.  Well, one would be wrong!  The students of Medina County are very talented and they have some of the best teachers ever to help them develop their talent.  The Medina County Art League members are proud to be able to help in a small way with their continuing education by awarding scholarships.”

The Medina County Schools’ Educational Service Center and the Medina County Art League have announced the award winners of the year’s MCAL Continuing Art Education Scholarships at the 2010 Scholarship Awards reception held on May 17, 2010 at 7:00 PM. Music for the reception, provided by Visual Arts Festival, was harpist Christine Fraser Ramsey from Columbus.  Her beautiful notes filled the air with calmness and beauty, giving the reception just the right mood.
